The 5th annual Tulbagh Arts Festival will be hosted on the weekend of 11 - 13 September 2015.
The Tulbagh Arts Festival offers a relaxed weekend where music in the classical, jazz and blues genres, art exhibitions, literary discussions, and architectural lectures and walkabouts can be enjoyed in a lovely Boland village blessed with excellent restaurants, award-winning wines and other local
produce against a backdrop of spectacular mountain views. Herman Binge is the patron of this year’s festival.
Tulbagh, the third oldest town in South Africa set in the heart of the Cape Winelands, has always been associated with the finer things in life - art, music, architecture. Indeed Church Street, with its concentration of National Monuments in a single street in South Africa!
It is therefore fitting to celebrate the history and beauty and showcase the talents of the people of the Tulbagh Valley by staging an arts festival to coincide with the wonder of the spring wildflowers, which include several varieties of rare indigenous bulbs that bloom only in this fertile valley.
The festival also incorporates wine tastings at some of the top wine estates in the Cape Winelands, an art and crafts market, food stalls, live entertainment at participating restaurants and entertainment for children.
